This message is especially for young people.
If you’re between 13 and 25 years old, you probably don’t think much about health — unless someone close to you is sick or you know a doctor or nurse. But this period of your life is actually one of the most important times for building good health.
Let me explain it using the example of a big sports match:
Imagine there’s a match you must play when you turn 40. Everyone has to participate, and if you lose, the penalty is extremely harsh — in the worst case, you could even lose your life.
What would you do? Of course, you’d learn the rules, train hard, and prepare as much as possible, right?
Yet in real life, a lot of people show up to this “health match” with almost no preparation.
Humans have a hard time preparing for things they can’t clearly imagine. When you’re young, your body has strong recovery power. Even if you make some mistakes or bad choices, the damage is usually small and you can bounce back. This is the perfect time to experiment and find what works for you.
The people who succeed in the “health game” are those who use this period to discover their own winning strategies and build helpful knowledge and habits. On the other hand, those who pick up bad habits or wrong ideas early on will face a much tougher battle later.

Once the match starts at age 40, your body’s ability to recover gets weaker, and any damage hits you much harder. Just like in other games, trying to learn the rules or train seriously while the match is already happening is way too late and very difficult.
People who damage their health and need medical help often say, “I didn’t know about this. No one ever told me.” That might be partly true — it could be their own fault or the environment’s. But the match doesn’t care about excuses. It keeps going anyway. You’ll end up struggling even to move, with a body that turns even effort and hard work into more damage.
By the way, this game continues until around age 75. After that, it’s like the closing ceremony — you’ve finished the main part. If you make it there, you can basically live however you want.
Whether you’ll be able to enjoy delicious drinks with a smile at that age, or whether you’ll be gritting your teeth and crying with regret… is mostly decided by how well you prepared before the match begins at 40.
I really hope young people understand this.
